In addition to the standard user input field, guided search fields can be configured via the admin panel.
We recommend using this field whenever specific user information or input is required to improve the quality of searches and answers, or when user input provides valuable context for a question..
Where to find the Guided Search configuration: Navigate to the admin panel and select your use case in the “Use Cases” screen. Select “Customization” in the use case settings and click “Guided Search” in the dropdown menu on top of the screen.
You can configure multiple guided search fields.

Create New Guided Search Fields

You will have to set all fields in both English and German. The following fields are available per guided search field:
  • Label: The label refers to the name of your guided search field. Will be visible to the user.
  • Placeholder: Will be displayed in the input field as an example. If the user clicks on the field, the placeholder will disappear.
  • Help Text: the help text will be displayed when the user toggles over the mouse over.
  • Requiered: As a use case administrator, you can specify whether users must fill out this guided search field in order to send a query.
  • Type: You can configure either multiple dropdown options or a free text guided search field.

Manage Existing Guided Search Fields

At the bottom of the page, you can also manage existing guided search fields. You can configure them using the pen icon or delete them using the bin icon.
