In this article, we’ll explore how data becomes accessible to Genow, the various connectors available, and how administrators can set up data management systems and initiate syncs.
A common question is whether we train AI ourselves to optimize on a use case. This is not the case, as this would not be technically feasible. But we have an even better approach to score high-quality results and add your use case’s context: Semantic search enriched with your specific use case context, combined with agentic tool calls to create great and flexible workflows for your team.

How Does Data Become Available to the Genow Platform?

API vs semantic connectors

Generally we distinguish between semantic and API connector. Find out more here.
The following explanation only refers to semantic connectors. Knowledge from systems connected via the API becomes accessible through API calls.
To make data and documents available to Genow, we use the Layout Parser.
  • Our Parser will understand your document structure (paragraphs, lists, figures), divide the documents into text sections, and assign a semantic content value to each section.
  • The semantic value will then later be used to search for relevant text sections based on the user query.
  • As long as they are not too complicated, images and tables will also be understood (guideline: if they are easily understandable to humans, they should be understandable for the Layout Parser; limits exist for the representation of dependencies between different objects - we recommend simply running tests on your documents)
The easier to understand your document structure and layout for humans, the easier it will be for the layout parser as well!
